Ground Report | Srinagar
Amid speculations of Jammu Kashmir Apni Party forming an advisory council in Jammu and Kashmir, National Conference president Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday said his party won’t initiate any political activity till all the political leaders are released.
“The National Conference will do no political activity till all the political leaders are released,” Farooq said as per the report of Srinagar based news Agency KINS.
There were some reports that JKAP led by Altaf Bukhari was going to form an advisory council in Jammu and Kashmir.
Former Chief Minster and National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah has also flown to New Delhi on Monday triggering a wave of speculations that NC may also be weighing its options.
“I don’t want comment whether Altaf Bukahri is forming any advisory council.
You should ask that question to him. As far NC is concerned, we will initiate any political activity only when all the political leaders are released. Till then we can’t do anything,” Farooq added.
NC Member Parliament Mohammad Akbar Lone also said they won’t initiate any political activity till all the political leaders are released.
National Conference top leadership including Farooq Abdullah and his son Omar Abdullah has remained silent over the abrogation of Article 370 and reorganization of Jammu and Kashmir since their release from detention.
NC senor leader Aga Ruhullah has hinted of a possible revolt cautioning the party top brass against any ‘misadventure’.
He said all the political parties are silent on abrogation of the Article 370.
“It is not only National Conference which is silent. Every other political party is silent. Honestly speaking, unfortunately the entire society is silent after August 5. This silence is proving counter-productive,” he said.
The powerful Shia leader said he will choose separate path if National Conference will compromise on the special status of J&K. “Of course, I will (choose separate path). Why should we debate something which has not happened? Hope they will not do it,” he said.
He said the BJP is implementing every bit of their ideology in Kashmir during the past seven to eight months. “The other side is doing whatever they want to do. They are doing it continuously.
They are taking it to logical conclusion as Ram Madhav claimed,” he said, adding that silence of political parties would be injustice with the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
He said every signatory of Gupkar declaration should stand by it. To a question about Apni Party’s stand, he said it will be wastage of comment and time to speak on their agenda. “They are out to sell New Delhi’s post August 5 narrative in Kashmir,” he said.
Ruhulla in a tweet strongly castigated Omar’s political advisor Tanveer Sadiq asking if the party was asking for the restoration of 4G services and permission for restarting the political activities.
“Revisit domicile law. Lift curbs on internet? ‘LET’ political process be run? Is that all what you are looking for in this reconciliation? If I am not reading wrong, you are asking for 4G and THEIR PERMISSION’ to let us start the political process. &then all is well.” Aga tweeted in response to Tanveer Sadiq’s earlier tweet.
Sadiq had demanded release of political prisoners, revisiting the domicile law and restoration of 4G services to begin the political process.
“As a starting point let all political prisoners arrested post Aug 05 be released, revisit domicile law, and lift all curbs on internet . Let the end of pandemic & the beginning of the political process be run along parallel lines.” Sadiq had tweeted.
