Farhan Akhtar weds Shibani Dandekar, Bin 'Nikaah' aur 'Phere' hum tere

In fact, marriage means a commitment to live with each other, religions have tied it in their respective rituals and ceremonies. Like taking 7 vows after '7 phere' in hinduism to 'Kubool Hai' in Nikaah. Marriage is to accept each other in front of the world. Bollywood stars Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar tied the knot in a similar way. They neither took 'Saat Phere' nor did Nikah, just promised to live with each other in front of the people who came to the wedding. Both took a special wow which they had written on their own.

This marriage was held in a private ceremony in Khandala, Mumbai, in which very selected guests arrived. Farhan and Shibani wanted to keep their wedding simple, the guests were also asked to wear light colours. At the wedding, Farhan Akhtar wore a tuxedo and Shibani wore a red off shoulder corset top flowing skirt and veil. Shibani and Farhan were dating each other for the last 4 years.

All the arrangements for the wedding were done at Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi's farmhouse in Khandala.

In background 'Sooraj ki bahon mein' song from Zindagi na Milegi dobara plays and Farhan enters on the floor. Javed Akhtar narrates his poem which he penned specially for the couple. Farhan and Shibani then dance to John Legend's 'All of Me' song. Then comes the song 'Galla Godiyan' from the movie 'Dil Dhadakne Do' and all the guests come to the dance floor.

Both have tied the knot in simple and intimate ceremony.

Who is Shibani Dandekar?

Shibani Dandekar is a singer, actor, anchor and model. Shibani co-hosted the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup. She played the role of Vijayalakshmi in the Telugu remake of Kangana Ranaut's film Queen.

Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar first met on the sets of a reality show 'I Can Do That'. Farhan was the host of the show and Shibani was the contestant. During the shoot of this show, the rumors spread that both of them are dating. After this, both were seen with together many times.

Shibani comes from a Marathi Chitpavan Brahmin family, having spent most of her childhood in Australia and Africa.

Before Shibani, Farhan Akhtar was married to hairstylist Adhuna Bhabani, but this marriage broke up after 16 years. Farhan's first marriage was also a love marriage and with this he has two daughters. The reason for the divorce of Farhan Akhtar and Adhuna was believed to be mutual estrangement.

Shortly before the divorce, there were reports of tension between the two. In the year 2016, Farhan Akhtar and Adhuna decided to separate. After this, both got divorced in January 2017.
