Dwayne Bravo Confirms his International retirement for the second time

Ground Report | New Delhi: Dwayne Bravo International career; Dwayne Bravo, the star cricketer of West Indies has confirmed his retirement from international cricket at the end of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup that is being held in UAE and Oman. This is the second time the West Indies all-rounder is announcing his retirement as he had earlier announced retirement in 2018 before reversing the decision in 2019.

Bravo started off his international career against England in 2004, nearly 18 years ago and from there he has marked his name in several records and achievements. He is the highest wicket-taker for Windies in T20Is with 78 wickets in 90 matches at an average of 25.64 and a strike rate of 18.90. He has also scored 1245 runs at an average of 22.23 and a strike rate of 115.49.

Apart from this, Bravo has scored 2200 runs in the 40 Tests and 2968 runs in the 164 ODIs. With the ball, Bravo picked up 86 wickets in Tests, while he grabbed 199 wickets in ODI cricket. Bravo was part of both the T20 World Cup-winning squads for West Indies in 2012 and 2016. His farewell game is set to be against Australia on Saturday, November 6 at Abu Dhabi.

The 20 runs defeat against Sri Lanka at Abu Dhabi ended the hopes of West Indies qualifying for the semis of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup. But Bravo said West Indies must not get worried about it. "For me now I want to try and pass on whatever experience and information I have with the younger players. I think in the white-ball formats West Indies cricket has a bright future and it's important for us to keep supporting the guys and keep encouraging them. (Dwayne Bravo International career)

"It wasn't the World Cup we expected, it wasn't the World Cup we wanted as players. We shouldn't feel sorry for ourselves, it was a tough competition, we should keep our heads high," said Bravo. Dwayne Bravo who has confirmed his International retirement is expected to play in IPLs, who had been one of the stars of successful CSK campaigns.
