Dubai Expo 2020 is a prestigious event that is happening in Dubai currently. The event, which was supposed to open in October 2020, was postponed to October 2021 due to the spread of the Covid19 pandemic. Dubai Expo 2020 opened its gates to the public on October 1’ 2021 and will last till March 31’ 2022. The Dubai Expo 2020 is one of the most popular and the largest expo that the world has seen. With the main theme of “Connecting Minds, Connecting the Future”, Dubai Expo 2020 has brought together innovations and technologies of more than 92 countries. While the exhibition may seem to be targeting adults, this is not true. In fact, there are plenty of things to see and do that kids would enjoy at the Dubai Expo 2020.

Activities for Families to Enjoy at Dubai Expo 2020

The Dubai Expo 2020 is one of the most popular family-friendly attraction in the city currently. Apart from the expats and residents of Dubai and all over UAE, people all around the world are planning family holidays to Dubai to be a part of this Expo. With this note, we will look at some of the best activities that you would be able to enjoy with your family, especially your children here.

Expo Mascot Show in 360o

One of the best things that kids would love watching at the Dubai Expo 2020 is the Expo Mascot Show. Here, they would get to meet the two mascots and their three guardian angels. The mascots of the expo are siblings Latifa and Rashid, who represent the people of the UAE. Their guardian angels are robots, Opti, Alif, and Terra, who represent the three sub-themes of the expo, Opportunity, Mobility, and Sustainability, respectively. The show entails song and dance, and you would also get to go on an adventure with the brother-sister duo. This show would not only be entertaining but informational as well.

Latifa’s Adventures in Space City

One of Dubai Expo 2020’s chief mascots, Latifa is an 8-year-old, who dreams to become an astronaut. At Latifa’s Adventures in Space City at Al Forsan Park, kids would have field day exploring the zero-gravity chamber. Filled with fun challenges that include leaping into orbits and even riding the replica of UAE’s Hope Probe, a visit to Latifa’s Adventures in Space promises lots of fun and learning as well. Apart from this, Forsan Park offers lots of green spaces, perfect for taking a short break while exploring the Expo.

Meet the Penguin Robots

The Dubai Expo 2020 would give the visitors a chance to meet penguin robots and also learn how they help in learning the behavior of the actual penguins. If you and your kids are interested in learning about penguins, you must head to the Monaco pavilion. Apart from being a great learning experience, kids would also have a great time here. They would get the chance to help the robot penguins while they try to keep the baby penguins safe while crossing the Arctic. The activities here enjoy lot of running and jumping and would definitely be loved by the little ones.

Rashid’s Playground

At Rashid’s Playground, you would get to know more about Latifa’s brother, Rashid. Rashid loves nature and is always looking forward to learn about how to make life on earth more sustainable. His love for nature is reflected at Rashid’s Playground. Located in Jubilee Park, this is an ocean-themed adventure park, where kids would have a great time playing on whale slides, sharks on springs, and ocean liners. It also has an interactive 3D maze, where you would get to see the humpback whale, a marine animal local to the UAE.

Science Experiments

If your children between the ages of 7 and 11 years, the Germany pavilion is a place you must visit. Here, kids would get the chance to indulge in some fun science experiments at the Forscherwelt Science Lab. Right from learning how toothpaste works and how clothes get cleaned to knowing about saving energy and recycling paper, this science lab teaches this and more to the little enthusiasts. As kids get to conduct hands-on experiment, this is a great place to take them if you want to develop their interest in science. The science lab is open for children only between 10 AM and 12 PM every Monday and Tuesday. Only 6 children can be part of each session, which lasts for 45 minutes.

Apart from these activities, children would love the numerous activities, workshops, and entertaining programs that are available for them at the Expo 2020 Dubai. Moreover, aside the Monaco and Germany pavilions, there are some pavilions that you should visit with your kids.

Luxembourg Pavilion: The Luxembourg Pavilion reflects the openness of the country. Aesthetically pleasing, this pavilion has the hearts of the young and old. The main reason for this is the 21 meters’ slide that gives you the opportunity to exit the pavilion in the most exciting way.

Seychelles Pavilion: At the Seychelles Pavilion, kids get to become mermaids and go treasure hunting under the sea. Apart from being fun, this also gives them the chance to know and understand the importance of preservation.

UAE Pavilion: Made of 4 stories, the UAE pavilion is where you would get to know about the major achievements of the country, right from the world recording constructions to their effort to reach Mars.

Tanzania Pavilion: You get to explore the treasures of Tanzania without actually visiting the country at the Tanzania pavilion. Right from checking out the view of the Tanzanian fields to enjoying a virtual safari, there are several interesting things to do here.

The best thing about taking kids to Dubai Expo 2020 is that you do not need to pay for their tickets.
