Reporting truth being criminalised in J&K: Mehbooba Mufti

Ground Report | New Delhi: Don't test our patience; Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti warned the BJP-led Center by following the example of Afghanistan. She urged the central government to take a lesson from the situation in Afghanistan and restore Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing a rally in the Valley's Kulgam district on Saturday, Mehbooba Mufti said, "It takes courage to face what the people of Jammu and Kashmir are facing. The day their patience runs out, you will be ruined. "Don't test us. Patience. Look what's happening in our neighbourhood (Afghanistan). The Taliban forced powerful American forces to leave the country."

BJP is scaring everyone

“On the barrel of the gun, the BJP is scaring everyone. This party has defamed the beautiful democratic system of India. It wants to divide people in the name of religion. The brunt of this has been felt by the people of Jammu and Kashmir and now the time has come that other states of India should also feel its impact.

She was addressing party workers in the Kulgam district of South Kashmir. She said that institutions like NIA, ED, and others are being used to suppress political opponents. “Those who question the BJP rule are being harassed.

Referring to the developments happening in Afghanistan, Mehbooba Mufti said that the superpower America had to bow down in Afghanistan. “I am telling New Delhi not to test our patience. The moment we run out of patience, you will no longer be there. I am telling the central government to resume talks like Atal Bihari Vajpayee and restore Article 370 otherwise it will be too late.

Don't test our patience

In her speech, Mehbooba Mufti said, "Don't test our patience and change your ways when you still have a chance. Remember how Vajpayee started the peace process. You should resume talks with Kashmiris." And whatever you have looted illegally should be returned.

Mehbooba Mufti said that the people of Kashmir did not enter BJP's India. “At the time of accession, the then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, a secular, had resolved to maintain the sanctity and protect the special status of the Muslims of Kashmir. We joined secular India and not BJP's India."

Mehbooba Mufti said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir would never have chosen India if BJP had ruled the country.

She said that the Taliban should give safe passage to those who want to return to their country in response to a question. "The whole world is watching the Taliban and they should not do anything that is against the world community," she said.
