Delhi government has declared the Coronavirus an epidemic and announced that all schools, colleges, universities and cinema halls in the national capital will remain closed till March 31. Apart from this, all the malls will have to be disinfected daily. Before Delhi, theaters of Kerala and Jammu were announced to be closed. Considering the risk of COVID-19, people have been advised to stay away from public gatherings.

All public swimming pools to be closed in Delhi.

The Delhi government has ordered the shutting of all public swimming pools in the city with immediate effect till March 31 in wake of coronavirus outbreak. The health department of the Delhi government had issued an order in this regard on Thursday, the official said, adding swimming pools of all hotels and other entities, where people use the facilities, will be closed. This big decision was taken after a meeting with Delhi's Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia: We have decided to ban any such activity where people will gather in huge numbers like IPL.

Mandatory to disinfect all public places

Kejriwal said, "It has been made mandatory to disinfect all public places including government, private offices, shopping malls". He said that the use of empty flats of Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board for isolated wards in the context of Coronavirus Will be done.

500 beds are ready in the hospital

CM Arvind Kejriwal said that decisions were taken after an important meeting regarding the prevention of Coronavirus. CM said, "Some decisions have been taken in the meeting in which all cinema halls, schools, and colleges (where there is no examination) will be closed by 31 March. If someone wants to quarantine, there are enough beds for that. More than 500 beds are ready in the hospital."

JNU, IIMC Delhi to Suspend classes

All lectures, class presentations and examinations at Jawaharlal Nehru University suspended till 31st March. Indian Institute of Mass Communication Delhi is also planning to suspend classes due to Corona Virus Outbreak.

No Foreign Visits for Ministers

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said no central minister will travel abroad in the coming days. The government has advised people to dispense with all non-essential travel.

First Death in India

First case of coronavirus death in the country has been reported in Karnataka. Health officials confirmed that a 76 year old man died in Kalburgi, Town of Hyedrabad. He was tested positive of COVID-19. A total of 75 positive cases of corona have been reported in India.

The virus was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organisation or WHO. The government said from all visas for incoming tourists have been stopped. A communique also said Indians returning from COVID-19 nations – China Italy, Iran, Republic of Korea, France, Spain and Germany -- shall be quarantined for a minimum of 14 days.

707 employees of Noida firm qurantined

After a Delhi man who works at a Noida private firm tested positive for coronavirus, Noida health authorities have placed 707 employees of the company in question under qurantine.
