The Delhi High Court has sought a response from the University of Delhi on the petition of a student. The student has requested in the petition to be directed to declare the result of her Economics (Hons) fifth semester examination.

Justice Prathiba M Singh also asked the varsity to place before it in a sealed cover the result of the other three exams in which the student had appeared. The court listed the matter for further hearing on May 11.

The court was hearing the petition by the final year student at Daulat Ram College seeking a declaration of her results for the fifth semester in four papers which were held in December 2019

Her exam results have been put on hold as she reportedly went away with her note of paper. Justice Pratibha M. Singh also asked the university to submit the results of the other three examinations in a sealed envelope in which the student was involved. The next hearing in the case will be on 11 May.

The court was hearing a petition by a final year graduate student at Daulat Ram College. The student said that she had appeared in all the exams and on 3rd December, 2019 she was late due to traffic in the 'International Trade' examination and she accidentally brought some notes in her bag.

She claimed that when she realized this, she went to the exam inspector to surrender the note, but was not allowed to appear in the examination. By the time he was given the new answer book, the exam time was over.

The exam inspector alleged that she was misbehaving in the examination. she was first issued a show cause notice and thereafter hee entire exam was canceled on 12 March.
