Police have arrested 4 out of 11 named accused in the case of throwing the dead body in front of his house after brutally thrashing Jagdish Meghwal, a Dalit youth, in the Surajgarh area of ​​Hanumangarh district on October 7. According to the police, a team is being formed to arrest the rest of the accused and raids are being conducted from place to place.

Under the Scheduled Castes and Tribes Atrocities Rules, financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh 12 thousand 500 has been approved by the Collector to the family of the deceased Jagdish.

Additional Director General of Police Crime Dr. Ravi Prakash told that the deceased Jagdish son Banwari Lal Meghwal and accused Mukesh Od etc are neighbors in village Prempura. There were also panchayats in both the families several times regarding the love affair of Mukesh's wife Suman with the deceased Jagdish for the last 4 years.

Suman went to her maternal home due to estrangement and filed a case against Mukesh in the police station Sadar Suratgarh. Due to mutual agreement between the two families in the Panchayat, both got separated. Here Manju, the wife of the deceased Jagdish, had also filed a case against Jagdish due to estrangement, in which the challan has been presented in the court.

parties condemn the incident

Meanwhile, the matter has sparked political outrage with leaders of several parties condemning the incident. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) President Mayawati while attacking the Congress government in Rajasthan said that the incident of Hanumangarh is unfortunate and condemnable.

In a tweet on Sunday, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati said, "The lynching of a Dalit in Hanumangarh is very sad and condemnable, but why is the Congress high command silent? Will the Chief Ministers of Chhattisgarh and Punjab go there and give 50 rupees to the victim's family." One lakh? BSP wants answers or else stop shedding crocodile tears in the name of Dalits.

BJP has also launched a scathing attack on Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. The party's Hanumangarh district president Balveer Bishnoi said, 'The Congress government, which talks of providing security to Dalits, is a complete failure. Such incidents are coming to the fore every day. Law and order has completely collapsed. “ Gehlot is sitting in the house on the pretext of Covid-19 and the general public is suffering,” he said.
