Ground Report | New Delhi: A cyclonic storm in the Arabian Sea can take a terrible form on Sunday. It is feared that this cyclonic storm will catch more speed due to which winds of more than 160 km per hour may be blowing on Monday.

Due to cyclonic storms, torrential rains also occurred in many affected areas with strong winds.

According to The Hindu newspaper, two people also died due to the impact of the storm in Ernakulam and Kozhikode districts of Kerala. At the same time, more than two thousand people are forced to leave their homes and stay in relief camps. 71 relief camps have been arranged for these people.

State Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said on the basis of data from the Indian Meteorological Department that this cyclone has caused huge damage to the power supply-facility and the agriculture sector.

Some important things related to Cyclone Interruptions-

  • The Home Minister of Karnataka said that the cyclone hit the coast of Karnataka on Saturday. Quoting the state home minister, the news agency ANI wrote, "Cyclone Tokte has hit the coast of Karnataka. Two teams of NDRF are present there. Apart from this, three other teams of SDRAF are also being deployed. Nearly one thousand people Will work day and night in the coastal areas of Karnataka. "
  • BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) will shift more than 500 covid patients to safe places. Due to the storm, strong winds can prevail in Mumbai and heavy rain is also expected.
  • Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray held a meeting in this regard on Saturday. Maharashtra is one of the five states most affected by the cyclone. 
  • Railways has cancelled some trains due to cyclonic storms and some trains are running late than their due time.
  • Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has released a video message. In which he said that in view of the cyclone, life-saving machinery has been activated on the coasts so that any situation arising due to the cyclone can be dealt with.
  • Fishing has been banned on the coasts of East-Central and South-East Arabian Sea, Kerala, Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra.
  • The Indian Air Force has kept 16 transport aircraft and 18 helicopters ready to face any situation arising out of the cyclone.
  • PM Modi held a high-level meeting to review the preparations of the respective state and central ministries, agencies to deal with the situation created due to the cyclone.

  • The Indian Navy said on Saturday that it has helped in flood-affected villages of Malaghapadi, Companypadi and Maruvakkad of Chellanam panchayat in Kochi, Kerala. 
  • NDRF officials had said on Friday that they were fully prepared to deal with the cyclone Tokte. Their 53 teams are ready for this. NDRF officials had said that 24 teams have already been deployed and 29 teams have been placed on standby. The five most affected states are on standby in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Gujarat and Maharashtra for help.
