Covid-19: Lockdown in Delhi till April 26

To curb the covid-19 epidemic in the capital, the Kejriwal government on Monday took a major step to announce a week-long curfew in Delhi. 

The curfew will be from tonight till next Monday i.e. April 26. The Delhi government has taken this decision to break the corona chain.

On Monday morning, a meeting of CM Arvind Kejriwal and Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal was held, after which the government announced a week-long curfew in Delhi.

Kejriwal said, "Taking stock of all the circumstances, the government has decided to impose a six-day lockdown. There will be a lockdown tonight from 10 am to 5 am Monday. "

Kejriwal said that this is a small lockdown and there is little hope of increasing it. He said that he believes that the lockdown time is very difficult for the poor people, but he has appealed to the people not to leave Delhi during this time.

Kejriwal said, "I believe the lockdown does not end the corona, its speed decreases. In these 6 days we will arrange beds on a large scale, medicines and oxygen."

In the order issued by the Delhi government, it has been said that during this time all the necessary services will remain operational. The shops of vegetables, milk, medicines and other essential things have been allowed to open.

Apart from this, a pass will be given for people connected with essential services, so that they can go from one place to another. Apart from this, doctors and media people can go to their work by showing I-cards.

During this time, Delhi Metro, buses and other public transport will also continue to run. But only those with a pass or a valid Icard will be allowed in it. Prayer places will open but people will not be allowed to gather. No religious events will be allowed.

The mall, spa, gym, auditorium etc. will all be completely closed during this one-week curfew in Delhi, but cinema halls will be able to run with 30 percent capacity.

With this, only one weekly market will be allowed in each zone in a day. Special arrangements are also being made to ensure that the markets are not overcrowded. 

A similar arrangement was made during the weekend curfew.

Will there be restrictions on them? 

  • Shopping malls, spas, auditoriums and gyms will remain closed.
  • Cinema halls will be able to operate with 30% capacity.
  • Sitting in restaurants and restaurants is not allowed in Delhi.
  • All necessary services and home delivery will be allowed.
  • No restrictions on weddings, but curfew passes have to be taken.
  • Each region will have only one weekly market per day.
  • Markets will be opened inside schools to maintain social distancing.

On Sunday, all records of new corona infected patients in the capital were broken. 25462 new infected patients were found. This is by far the highest number reported in a single day. 

At the same time, 161 people have died during this period. The positivity rate in Delhi has increased to 29.74 percent. The number of active patients in the state is 74,941.
