At least 12 covid-infected patients have died due to lack of oxygen in a hospital in Chamarajanagar district of Karnataka. This hospital is 60 km from Mysore city.

Dr. GM Sanjeev, dean of the Medical College said, "Between 12 o'clock at 2 o'clock, the oxygen pressure was reduced. Out of 122 patients, 12 patients were suffering from some other serious disease besides covid. We made many efforts to increase the pressure but till this morning we could not save 12 patients.''

All these patients were on ventilators. Doctor Sanjeev told that the supply of oxygen stopped when the pressure of oxygen dropped below.

He said, "We need 10 oxygen cylinders every 35 minutes, but we got delayed in getting oxygen and between 12 pm and 2 pm the oxygen level fell down."

"Actually, the delay in reaching the oxygen cylinder was due to logistic reasons as we get the oxygen from the Mysore plant." In total, we have got 200 cylinders, 50 cylinders are in stock and some new cylinders are also coming.

Apart from this, 11 other patients also died in the hospital, although these patients were not on oxygen support and the cause of their death was something else.
