Coronavirus Updates : New Covid-19 cases in India

Total Covid-19 cases in India have risen to 4,30,45,527 while the active cases spiked to 11,860 which comprise 0.03 percent of the total infections. 928 recoveries were reported on Monday, with a recovery rate of 98.76 per cent in total. The mortality rate climbed to 5,21,965.

Amid rising in Delhi

Delhi has seen a horrific explosion of Covid-19 with the positivity rate instantly jumping to 7.72 percent. Delhi has gone through the highest positivity rate of 30.6 percent on January 14 which has been recorded as the highest during the third wave of pandemics. Now, the National Capital recorded 501 new cases almost one-fourth of the total Covid cases. But it gives relief that no deaths were reported due to the virus. The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) is keeping an eye on the whole situation.

Kerala's Negligence

Negligence was seen in the state of Kerala. The state put forth the data of Covid-19 after 5 days, which is a big mistake. This negligence has affected and skewed the data on positivity rate, mortality rate and active cases in India. The state solely recorded fresh 940 cases on April 18, which almost contributed 43 per cent of the total cases.

Mask Mandatory in UP

After seeing the sudden increase in Covid Cases, the Uttar Pradesh government has started to take preventive measures. On Monday, it is mandatory for the people of Lucknow and six NCR districts to wear a face mask in public places. These districts are Ghaziabad, Hapur, Meerut, Gautam Budh Nagar, Bulandshahr, Baghpat and the state capital Lucknow.

The government has taken this decision due to the rise of Covid-19 cases in the nearby state of Delhi and Haryana. The state has also seen that most of the cases are coming from these states, with 65 new cases from Gautam Budh Nagar, 20 from Ghaziabad and 10 from Lucknow. The state has 115 new Covid-19 cases. State's CM Yogi Adityanath has ordered the administration to " close monitoring" the situation.

Scientists believe that there is no fourth wave, although it will attack children because their vaccination is not yet complete. Now it is your and our responsibility to wear masks and save yourself and your children.
