Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, saying that he never hid the past.
Azad said at an event in Jammu, "I like many things among many leaders." I am from village and I am proud of it. Like our Prime Minister. He himself says that he was nothing, used to get utensils and sell tea. We are politically against them, but at least they do not hide their realities."

"Those who hide their reality, they remain in confusion." Man should be proud of his past. I went to many countries around the world. I stayed in Five Star and Seven Star hotel. But when I sit with the people of my village, even though their clothes are less washed but they have a different smell and enjoy."
Earlier in February, Ghulam Nabi Azad, during his farewell to the Rajya Sabha, had narrated several instances of good relations with PM Modi. PM Modi and Ghulam Nabi Azad both praised each other very well.

This remark of Ghulam Nabi Azad came when a group of Congress leaders, who are being called G-23, met in Jammu on Saturday. Many big leaders of Congress are included in this group and differences are said to be with Rahul Gandhi.
In the G-23 meeting, Ghulam Nabi Azad was also put forward as the leader of the party. The G-23 meeting is being seen as an open rebellion from the top leadership of the Congress.
Due to such differences in Congress, the leaders of other parties are also looking worried. National Conference chief Dr. Farooq Abdullah said on Sunday that the Congress needs to be united to fight the divisive forces.

Talking to reporters on Sunday, Farooq Abdullah said, "There is a need to remain united to fight the powers that divide in the country. Congress also needs to be united and strong. People are looking towards the Congress. The Congress is a 130-year-old party. '
