Congress calls NDTV Mischievous spreading lies on Gandhi's resignation

Ground Report | New Delhi: Congress has categorically denied that Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra - will resign at the Congress Working Committee meeting tomorrow.

Congress leader Randeep Surjewala said in a tweet that "the news of alleged resignations based on unidentified sources is completely unfair and incorrect," he added, "it is unfair that a TV channel broadcast baseless propaganda stories emanating from imaginary sources. sources at the behest of the ruling BJP."

A breaking news story on NDTV had claimed that the Gandhis "will offer their resignation at the main meeting of Congress" scheduled for Sunday. The television channel had attributed the news to anonymous "sources".

Speaking on the TV channel, NDTV representative Sunil Prabhu said: "Even though they (the Gandhi's) will offer to resign, they are adamant about it… this time they told us that some will definitely appreciate Gandhi offering to resign.".

The Congress Working Committee is scheduled to meet on Sunday to discuss the polling debacle in five states and the current political situation. The meeting will be held at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) office at 4 pm. (Congress NDTV)

The G-23 congressional leaders, who are members of the Congressional Working Committee, will raise their demand for reforms in the party during the CWC meeting, the ANI news agency reported, citing sources.
