China suspends flights from India over Covid-19 concerns

China banned Indians entry: China has banned entry of Indians with visa or resident permit in view of Corona virus. China's embassy in India informed about this. Those holding diplomatic, service, courtesy or crew (C) visas issued to crewmembers working on board of international trains, airliners or vessels will still be allowed to enter China, Chinese Embassy in India said in a statement on its website on Thursday.

Statement further said those looking to travel to China due to an emergency situation or humanitarian needs can submit their application at the embassy . “The suspension is a temporary measurement that China has to adopt to deal with the current pandemic. China will make further adjustments and announcements in accordance with the ongoing pandemic situation,” the Chinese Embassy in India said in a statement.

The Chinese Embassy/ Consulates in India will not stamp the Health Declaration Forms for the holders of the above-mentioned categories of visa or residence permits. Foreigners holding Chinese diplomatic, service, courtesy and C visas are not affected. Foreigners with emergency or humanitarian needs to visit China, can submit visa application to the Chinese Embassy/ Consulates in India. The entry into China with visas issued after November 3rd, 2020 is not affected.

The statement reads that the suspension is a temporary measurement that China has to adopt to deal with the current pandemic. China will make further adjustment and announcement in accordance with the ongoing pandemic situation in a timely manner.

China recently issued fresh guidelines for airlines flying passengers to the country. “In order to reduce cross-border transmission of Covid-19, starting from 00:00 hours (India time) on November 7, 2020, all Chinese and foreign passengers bound for China will be required to take nucleic acid and IgM anti-body tests and apply for a green health code with the ‘HS’ mark or a certified health declaration form before boarding the flight,” the notice to “airline boarding requirements for certificates of negative nucleic acid and IgM antibody tests results” issued on November 2 said.

Passengers from India to China via connecting flights shall take one nucleic acid test and one IgM anti-body test of Covid-19 in the ICMR-authorised labs of India within 48 hours before boarding their flight to the transit country, and then take both tests again in the transit country within 48 hours before boarding the plane to China. Passengers shall apply at the Chinese Embassy/Consulates in BOTH countries for green health codes with the "HS" mark or certified Health Declaration Forms with certificates of negative results of both tests new guidelines issued on November 2 said..
