Ground Report | New Delhi: Charanjit Singh Channi; Charanjit Singh Channi will be the new Chief Minister of Punjab. Congress General Secretary and party in charge of Punjab, Harish Rawat has just given this information by tweeting.
Congress leader Harish Rawat announced on Twitter that Charanjit Singh Channi has been unanimously elected as the new Chief Minister of Punjab.

"The decision has been taken unanimously to make Charanjit Singh Channi the CM in the meeting of the Congress Legislature Party." Apart from him, Ajay Maken, who arrived in the state as an observer, has also tweeted that Harish Rawat and the new leader of the legislature party will go to the Governor's House at 6:30 in the evening. It is believed that in this meeting he will stake a claim to form the government in the state.

A day after Captain Amarinder Singh stepped down as the Chief Minister of Punjab, his office has issued a statement saying that on September 18, Amarinder Singh wrote a letter to Sonia Gandhi expressing grief over the political events of the last five months.
He said, "Despite my personal suffering, I hope this will not harm the hard-earned peace and development in the state, and the efforts I have been focusing on during the last few years will continue." Will ensure justice to all."
Amarinder Singh, in his letter to Sonia, indicated his apprehension of instability in Punjab as a result of political developments in the state unit of the Congress.
Referring to the many challenges faced by him in the last four-and-a-half years in fulfilling the promises made by the Congress in Punjab Elections 2017, he pointed out that despite all these, his government fulfilled 89.2 percent of the promises while work on the remaining commitments was in progress.
