Meanwhile, some celebrities had revealed the identity of the girl who was the victim of this incident, after which a case has been registered against them. Now a Delhi-based lawyer has filed a petition seeking the arrest of 38 celebrities from Bollywood and Tollywood, including popular names like Ravi Teja, Rakul Preet, Salman Khan, and Akshay Kumar, who used the real name of the rape victim.

Case filed against 38 celebrities

According to a report in Times of India, 38 Indian celebrities including Ajay Devgan, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Rakulpreet Singh have been booked for exposing the identity of the rape victim on social media. Apart from Bollywood, these celebrities also include people from the South's film industry. According to the law, disclosing the name, photograph or real identity of any rape victim anywhere is an offense under the law.

The case against celebrities has been registered by a Delhi-based lawyer, Gaurav Gulati. He has filed a petition in Tis Hazari Court by registering a case under Section 228A of the Indian Penal Code at Sabzi Mandi Police Station.

The report further states that a Delhi-based lawyer, Gaurav Gulati, has filed a complaint in this regard under section 228A of the IPC at Sabzi Mandi police station against celebrities and a petition has also been filed in Tis Hazari Court, In which it is alleged that these were not celebrities. Being a responsible citizen.

Gulati accused celebrities of disclosing the name of the rape victim despite the law being barred. The case has been registered because instead of setting an example for others by not publicizing the name of the victim, the celebs themselves have broken the rules by revealing their true identity on the social media platform.

Hence the lawyer has reportedly sought immediate arrest of all the above-mentioned celebs alleging that they have not shown any social responsibility while maintaining the confidentiality of the victim.
