Ground Report | New Delhi: Cartoonist Manjul has been suspended from Network18 with "immediate effect", four days after receiving a notice from Twitter. On June 8, four days after receiving a notice from Twitter, popular political cartoonist Manjul has been suspended from Network18 with immediate effect. He was associated with Network 18 on a contract basis for the last six years.
Network 18 is owned by Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries. It is to be known that on June 4, Manjul had shared an email of Twitter through a tweet, in which it was said that the Indian administration believes that the content of his Twitter account violates Indian law.
Twitter had said in the notice that Indian law enforcement had asked them (Twitter) to take action against Manjul's account. Tweeting this Twitter email, Manjul had said in the caption, 'Jai ho Modi ji ki sarkar ki.' He had tweeted and said, 'Thank you Modi Sarkar did not write to Twitter to stop this Twitter handle. This cartoonist is unrighteous, an atheist. Do not consider Modi ji as God.

However, Twitter had suggested four options to Manjul, including challenging the government's request in court. Second, contacting social organizations for any redressal, third voluntarily deleting the content (if applicable) and fourthly finding any other solution.
Manjul was suspended from Network18 on June 8, four days after posting an email from Twitter. Several leaders, in response to the issue of notice to Manjul on behalf of Twitter, targeted the Modi government, calling him a dictator.
Manjul had posted several images criticizing the Center for its handling of the COVID outbreak, highlighting the grim reality of the devastating second wave of the pandemic.

It is known that cartoonist Manjul has already posted several cartoons criticizing the Narendra Modi government-led BJP government regarding Corona management, in which the grim reality of the second wave of the epidemic is exposed. Manjul in his work has exposed that people are helpless due to the lack of health care facilities in the country.
