Ground Report | New Delhi: Capt Amarinder Singh; Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has said that he will not join the BJP, but will not be in the Congress. In an interview with news channel NDTV, Captain Amarinder Singh said, “As of now I am in Congress, but I will not be in Congress. I am not going to BJP either.”
He said that Congress is going down in Punjab and the party has given serious work to a person like Sidhu. Amarinder Singh said, “I have been in politics for 52 years. But how did he treat me. At 10.30, the Congress president asked me to resign. I didn’t ask any questions. At four o’clock I went to the governor and Resigned. If after 50 years you still doubt me, my credibility is at stake and there is no trust, then there is no point in being in the party.”
Amarinder Singh is currently in Delhi and on Wednesday he met Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Amarinder Singh met National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on Thursday morning. On 18 September, Amarinder Singh had resigned from the post of Chief Minister and since that time there has been a ruckus in the Punjab Congress. (Capt Amarinder Singh)
After Amarinder Singh, the Congress party has made Charanjit Singh Channi as the Chief Minister of the state. But on Tuesday, Navjot Singh Sidhu suddenly resigned from the post of state Congress president. After Sidhu’s resignation, Amarinder Singh had said that Sidhu is not a stable man. Assembly elections are going to be held in Punjab next year.
During the interview, Amarinder Singh said, “I had made it clear to the Congress that I should not be treated like this. I have not yet resigned from Congress, but where there is a lack of trust, how can one live there? I have made my stand clear. When there is no trust, how can anyone be there.”

Regarding Sidhu, Amarinder Singh said, “Sidhu is an immature person. I have said many times that he is not a stable person. He is not a team player. He is going to walk alone. How can he manage Punjab Congress as president? Will you handle that? For that, you have to be a team player, which Sidhu is not.”
Regarding the performance of Congress in the coming assembly elections, he said that Congress is going down. “The survey conducted by the Congress between July and September shows that the Aam Aadmi Party is moving ahead and the Congress is going down. This election is going to be very different,” he said.
