Asked about an appeal for the genocide of Muslims at a religious parliament held in Haridwar from 17 to 19 December, Naseeruddin Shah said, "I wonder if they know what they are talking about. This is an appeal for civil war." 200 Million of us are not going to perish so easily, we will fight with 200 million people.

It is the motherland of 20 crore people for us. We are 20 crore people from here. We are born here. Our families and many generations lived here and got mixed in this soil. I am sure that if such a campaign is started, it will be strongly opposed and people will get angry.

Naseeruddin Shah said that Muslims are being made second-class citizens. He said, "It is an attempt to create fear among Muslims, but Muslims will not give up. Muslims will face it because we have to save our home, we have to save our motherland, we have to save our family, we have to save our children." Save the world. I am not talking about fun. Religion is easily jeopardized.

Naseeruddin Shah said that attempts are being made to marginalize Muslims from above. "It is an organized effort to make Muslims feel insecure. It is being done from above. Separatism has become a policy for the ruling party. I was curious to see what would happen to those who instigate violence against Muslims. But it is true that nothing happened. However, this is not surprising as nothing happened to him whose son had crushed the peasants.

Naseeruddin Shah said he was not surprised by the government. "It's certainly not entirely surprising," he said. It's disappointing, but it more or less exceeds our expectations. But the way things are going is worse than I feared. Our leaders remain silent on such provocations.

Earlier this week, several Supreme Court lawyers wrote to the Chief Justice of India urging him to take suo motu cognizance of the Parliament of Religions held in Haridwar. Lawyers have appealed to take suo motu cognizance against a program organized in Delhi apart from Haridwar. Lawyers have said that the videos of both these programs are public and strict action should be taken against those who spread hatred in them.
