Called to school at night for 'practical exam', 17 students molested in UP

Ground Report | New Delhi: 17 students molested in UP; An FIR was registered on Sunday against the manager of two schools in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar for allegedly exploiting 17 girl students of class X. The private school had taken girl students to another school in the name of CBSE practical examination.

One of the accused is the manager of the school where the girl students study, while the other accused is the manager of the school where the girl students were taken. It has been more than 15 days since this incident and both people are yet to be arrested.

On the night of November 17, the girls were allegedly exploited by giving them intoxicants to eat. The matter came to light when the family members of two girl students recently contacted Purkaji's BJP MLA Pramod Atwal. The in-charge of the police station area under which this school falls has been removed. (17 students molested in UP)

District education officials have confirmed the incident. The Indian Express quoted sources as saying that both the accused were capable of committing the crime as the parents of the girl students are very poor and they did not question when they were taken in the name of the examination.

According to the FIR, 17 girl students fell unconscious after consuming the drug and returned home the next day. He was threatened that he would not tell anyone about this or else his family would be killed.

MLA Atwal says that when relatives contacted him, he spoke to SSP Abhishek Yadav and after that investigation was started. SSP Yadav says, "We have sent the in-charge of the concerned station to the police lines and a departmental inquiry has been started against him. We are probing the matter and hope that the conspirators will be arrested soon.

According to the FIR, the school manager of the girl students had contacted the parents on November 17 and told them that they would be shifted to another school for the practical examination of class 10th. However, no contact could be made with the boys of the same class.
