Hurriyat promote Militancy in Kashmir: BJP Leader

Senior BJP leader and former Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Ramesh Arora said that Hurriyat promote Militancy in Kashmir.

While speaking to groundreport.in Arora said “Hurriyat conference always support militancy in Kashmir and the reason behind active military in Kashmir is support of Hurriyat”.

He said, “NIA has been given full power to take action against those who promote militancy in Kashmir and supports Pakistan in such activities”. He added that the Hurriyat Conference cannot be trusted.

Arora further added “Leaders of Hurriyat are paid agents of Pakistan and they always support Pakistan in illegal activates in Kashmir. Since last the three decades Hurriyat has been instigating youths against India”.

When asked about Dialogues with Hurriyat conference, Arora said that central government will decided what to do further.

He further added BJP is committed to repealing 370 which provides special status to Jammu And Kashmir State.

Earlier Governor Malik had said the situation in the valley had vastly improved over the past year and the Hurriyat Conference was willing to enter into a dialogue with the government.

Malik said the situation in Kashmir had improved ever since he took over as the governor last August, adding that recruitment of militants had almost stopped and stone-pelting incidents on June 21 had ended.

“I feel good that the temperature (of the situation) has come down significantly since the day I arrived here,” he said.

What is Hurriyat conference?

All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), or Tehreek e Hurriyat is an alliance of 26 political, social and religious organizations formed on 9 March 1993, as a united political front to raise the cause of Kashmiri separatism in the Kashmir conflict.

The alliance has historically been viewed positively by Pakistan as it contests the claim of the Indian government over the State of Jammu and Kashmir. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq is its chairman and Ghulam Muhammad Safi was elected as its convener in Pakistan on January 2010.

Paid protests

Geelani and his Hurriyat conference has been accused by the media of staging fake protests by paying money to local unemployed youth.

According to stone pelters who were arrested, each stone pelters is paid Rs 400 every Friday. Police said the money is being raised locally by Hurriyat hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s followers. Most of the money comes from fruit markets and saw mills, Pakistan-based LeT militant also participate in stone pelting’s the police said.
