Ground Report | New Delhi: There has been a big decline in the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. When people of India are devastated by second wave of Corona and thousands of deaths are being done every day. The result of the survey is not considered to be very shocking.

Modi was elected PM in 2014 and again became PM again in 2019 with a large majority after three decades. Killings of covid-19 epidemic in India are so strong common people are suffering and the whole system has proved to be a failure. This week, cases of corona infection have reached 25 million. American data intelligence company Morning Consult conducted a survey on Modi's popularity and the result of the same survey was released on Tuesday.

Morning Consult started the survey on Modi's popularity from August 2019 and this is the biggest decline since then. Modi's overall rating stood at 63% this week. This is a 22 point drop compared to April. According to the survey, with the increasing outbreak of Corona in the metros, Modi's popularity has declined. Modi's overall ratings this week stand at 63%, his lowest since the U.S. firm began tracking his popularity in August 2019. The Modi government says that it is trying its best to deal with the Corona epidemic. This month, an agency called YouGov also conducted a survey regarding the Modi government.

In this survey too, people's trust in the government has been reduced in dealing with the epidemic. Only 59 percent of people involved in survey said that the government had done a good job in dealing with crisis. In the previous wave of Corona, the number of such people was 89 percent. Modi does not have to face the first general election of 2024.
