Ground Report | New Delhi: Babar Azam named captain; The International Cricket Council (ICC) has formed a team of the most valuable players of the tournament after the end of the T20 World Cup on Sunday, with Pakistani cricketer Babar Azam as its captain. The ICC squad includes champions Australia, runners-up New Zealand, semi-finalists England and Pakistan, as well as Sri Lanka and South Africa.

Australia includes opener David Warner, league sniper Adam Zampa and seamer Josh Hazelwood. The team also includes England's Jose Butler as wicket-keeper, Pakistan's Babar Azam as captain, and New Zealand's Trent Bolt, and Sri Lanka's Vinandu Hasaranga as the highest wicket-taker in the tournament. According to the ICC, Babar Azam was selected as the captain because his team finished third in the tournament and was the only batsman in the event to cross the 300-run milestone. He also scored 68 runs in a magnificent 10-wicket win over India.

Babar also scored three half-centuries in the Super 12 stage, which helped Pakistan easily make it to the semi-finals.

Vinod Hasaranga (Sri Lanka) - 16 wickets
