Ground Report | New Delhi: Ashraf Ghani supported Taliban; Former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has supported the Taliban rule through his official Facebook account. Not only this, he has also appealed to the international community to talk to the Taliban government.

Along with this, he has called for recognition and support of the Taliban government. He has also said that the assets of Afghanistan frozen abroad should be released.

But after this Facebook post, he has denied his statement on Twitter saying that his Facebook account has been hacked and the post made after yesterday should not be considered valid.

Earlier, the post on Facebook which he denied was something like, “Dear countrymen. It is a bitter truth that we and our cabinet have no control over Afghanistan at all. But despite this, some countries are former ambassadors. And inciting our representatives around the world to create a new crisis.”

“They have said that they cannot represent Afghanistan and its government. Ghulam Mohammad Ishaq Zai at the United Nations said that Afghanistan has no government and does not have public support. The international community needs to stay away from Afghanistan. Instead, they should talk to the current government. Help them by releasing money to Afghanistan. They should be recognized. Some of my friends will not agree with me but they know that I speak straight.

Ghani had fled Afghanistan to the United Arab Emirates on 15 August, the day the Taliban captured Kabul.

He later said that he did this to avoid bloodshed: “Leaving Kabul was the hardest decision of my life, but I believed it was the only way to keep the guns silent and save Kabul and its 6 million citizens”,” They said. Ghani’s Facebook post was on the page till 1:30 pm. Afghanistan time on Monday.
