Ground Report | New Delhi: Ankita Konwar, a sportswoman, Air Asia's ex-senior flight attendant, and Milind Soman's wife, is in the news because of a post on Mirabai Chanu and Priya Malik medals at the World Cadet Wrestling Championships. In fact, Ankita has taken a dig at the people of the Northeast being called by different names. Ankita Konwar has questioned the racism with Northeast Indians.

Ankita has shared her post after people's reaction to the victory of Olympic silver medalist weightlifter Mirabai Chanu. Mirabai Chanu is from North-East Imphal and Ankita Konwar is also from North-East.

Often people address the people of North East by different names, not calling them Indians, which makes Ankita feel bad. But as soon as weightlifter Mirabai Chanu won the silver medal, people started calling her the 'daughter of the country'. In such a situation, seeing the sudden change in the thinking of people, Ankita took a dig at the trollers.

Ankita writes that 'If you are from the North East then you can be an Indian only when you bring medals for the country. Otherwise, you are called Chinki, Chinese, Nepali, or just recently the new edition is called Corona. There is not the only casteism in India but there is also racism. I am telling this from my experience.

After Ankita's tweet, many social media also disagreed with her and said that she is 'exaggerating'. However, Ankita took her stand and shared a video on Instagram claiming that she is commenting after a personal experience.

She wrote, "Your disagreement with my life experience won't change the truth. If it makes you uncomfortable then look the other way as you always have been."
