Akhilesh Yadav prepared strong caste equation to defeat BJP

Ground Report | New Delhi: Akhilesh Yadav BJP; A strong caste alliance can play an important role in the electoral strategy of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. It is being said that this equation of Akhilesh Yadav can overshadow Yogi Adityanath's Hindutva.

Akhilesh Yadav has tried to take all OBCs to Brahmins. Many of the 56 candidates announced by Akhilesh Yadav in Purvanchal are BSP rebels. The Hindu reported, on the caste equation of Akhilesh Yadav today. Read this report till today's press review.

Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party has prepared a strong caste equation to defeat the BJP. In the 2017 assembly elections, out of 10 seats in Azamgarh, the Samajwadi Party won five.

The party has re-fielded four of these five MLAs - Alam Badi, Sangram Yadav, Nafees Ahmed and Durga Prasad Yadav. Three other Samajwadi Party candidates in this district include former Lok Sabha MP Ramakant Yadav and Yadav contesting from Phulpur Powai, Kamalkant Rajbhar, son of a former BSP leader, and late Sukhdev Rajbhar, who is contesting from Didarganj. Whereas Saroj, who was sold from Lalganj, has been given a ticket. Candidates for three other seats are yet to be announced.

The Samajwadi Party has left no stone unturned in neighbouring Ambedkar Nagar, a traditional stronghold of the Bahujan Samaj Party. The party has fielded senior OBC leader and MLA Lalji Verma from Katehri and Achal Rajbhar from Akbarpur.

Senior Jatav leader and former MP Tribhuvan Dutt are in the fray from Alapur and Rakesh Pandey, father of BSP MP Ritesh Pandey is in the fray from Jalalpur. Lalji Verma, Achal Rajbhar and Tribhuvan Dutt were in the Bahujan Samajwadi Party for a long time before joining the Samajwadi Party. With his arrival, the reach of the Samajwadi Party has increased among non-Yadavs. Rakesh Pandey's son Ritesh was an MLA from Jalalpur before contesting the Lok Sabha elections in 2019. Rakesh Pandey is also a former MP and a prominent Brahmin face of the area.

Samajwadi Party has fielded Dara Singh Chauhan from Ghosi in Mau. Chouhan had recently resigned from the Yogi cabinet. Chouhan had joined BJP in 2017 from BSP and contested from Madhuban. Gorakhpur is considered the fort of Yogi Adityanath, where Akhilesh Yadav has announced his candidates for seven seats.

The Samajwadi Party has also included BSP MLA Vinay Shankar Tiwari from the Chilupar assembly constituency. Vinay Shankar Tiwari is the son of Harishankar Tiwari, the dominant Brahmin leader of this region. It is said about Harishankar Tiwari that he can challenge Yogi Adityanath.

By fielding the Tiwari family in the campaign against Yogi Adityanath, the Samajwadi Party hopes that a Thakur versus Brahmin situation can be created here. Apart from being the flag bearer of Hindutva, Yogi Adityanath is also known as Thakur. Samajwadi Party has not yet announced a candidate against Yogi Adityanath in Gorakhpur Sadar.

Kajal Nishad's name is also in the recent list of the Samajwadi Party. Kajal is an actress of Bhojpuri films. The Samajwadi Party has fielded Kajal from Campiyarganj in Gorakhpur. Apart from this, once again Amarendra Nishad, son of Nishad veteran Jamuna Prasad Nishad has been fielded from Pipraich. The region has a good population of Nishads or sailors.

The Samajwadi Party has given a ticket to Mata Prasad Pandey, former Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, from Etawah in Siddharthnagar. On the other hand, another Brahmin leader Shankar Tripathi has been made a candidate from the Patthardev seat of Deoria. Former MP Dawood Ahmed (Mohammadi in Lakhimpur Kheri), former BSP MLA Pooja Pal (Chail in Kaushambi), BSP MLA from Prayagraj Murtaza Siddiqui, Rakesh Verma (President of Barabanki), son of late Kurmi leader Beni Prasad Verma, former MP Toofani Saroj (Kerakat in Jaunpur), Shailendra Yadav Lalai (Shahganj) and Leader of Opposition Ramgovind Chaudhary, who has a good hold among Yadavs, are also in the list.
