Ground Report | New Delhi: Airtel increases mobile tariffs; Major telecom company Bharti Airtel has announced a revised mobile tariff for customers. The new tariffs will come into effect from today (26 November 2021).

Basic Airtel prepaid plans now start at Rs 99. With a validity of 28 days, the plan offers 50 percent more talk time, 200MB of data. Here is the complete tariff list.

Data from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) shows that Bharti Airtel got subscribers in August. The data shows that in the month under review, Airtel gained over 1.38 lakh subscribers to take its total subscriber base to 35.41 crore users.

"The customers of Bharti Airtel include customers of Tata Teleservices Limited," TRAI said.

According to the data, the telecom industry lost around 1.12 lakh, wireless subscribers, in August. The total telecom subscriber base for wireless connections in August was over 118.67 crore, as against 118.68 crore in July.

Therefore, as a first step, the company is taking the lead in rebalancing its tariffs during the month of November. Accordingly, its new tariffs as detailed below will be effective from November 26, 2021.

The existing plan of Rs 79 has been revised to Rs 99 with a validity of 28 days, where the benefit is 50 percent talk time on 99 minutes, 200 MB data at 1p/sec voice tariff. The Rs 149 plan has been revised to Rs 179 with benefits of unlimited calling, 100 SMS/day, and 2GB/data day. Similarly, the Rs 219, Rs 249 and Rs 298 plans have been revised to Rs 265, Rs 299, and Rs 359, with the initial two benefits remaining the same while the data differs.

The 58 days plans of Rs 399, as well as Rs 449, have been revised to Rs 479 and Rs 549, which include unlimited calling, 100 SMS/day, and 1.5GB/day data, and 2GB/day data.

Similarly, the Rs 379, Rs 598, and Rs 698 plans for 84 days have been revised to Rs 455, Rs 719, and Rs 839 while the 365 days plans have been increased from Rs 1,498 and Rs 2,498 to Rs 1,799 and Rs 2,999.
