Ground Report | New Delhi: Airbnb announces temporary houses; Airbnb announces that the firm's non-profit arm will provide temporary housing to 20,000 Afghan refugees worldwide, and its costs will be funded through contributions from Airbnb and co-founder Brian Chesky to Airbnb.org Will go As donors to the Airbnb.org Refugee Fund.
Airbnb.org is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to facilitating temporary stays for people in moments of crisis. It has helped shelter people displaced by natural disasters and offered workers thousands of places to live and peace of mind at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Our goal is to play our part in the biggest humanitarian crisis of all time, and we think we need to take action now to help them," said Brian Chesky, the company's chief executive, in a statement on Twitter.
Airbnb co-founder and chief executive Brian Chesky will also fund the effort. "While we will pay for these stays, we would not be able to do so without the generosity of our hosts," Chesky said. "If you are willing to host a refugee family, get in touch and I will connect you with the right people here so that it can happen.

The relocation and resettlement of Afghan refugees in the United States and elsewhere is one of the greatest humanitarian crises of our time. We feel the responsibility to take action. I hope this inspires other business leaders to do the same. There is no time to waste. "
The company has not confirmed where, or for how long, it will hold the refugees, calling the situation "rapidly evolving." Instead, it will "collaborate with resettlement agencies and partners where needed, and tailor our cooperation to that initiative and need."

Thousands of Afghans have fled the country since the Taliban regained control of Kabul, while thousands seek refuge in Europe or the United States, with large numbers at Kabul airport.
According to the agreement between the Taliban and the US government, the deadline for the withdrawal of US troops and their allies will expire on August 31, 2021, before all of them want to move abroad.
