Ground Report | New Delhi: AIIMS doctor raped; A doctor working at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi has claimed that a senior raped her during a birthday party. According to the complainant, the party was organized inside the campus on September 26.

On October 11, the lady doctor gave a complaint to the Delhi Police and told that during the celebration of her birthday on September 26, the accused doctor had committed rape on her.

After the complaint of the woman, Delhi Police has started the investigation by registering a case at Hauz Khas police station. The lady doctor told that September 26 was her birthday and on the evening of her birthday she was celebrating the birthdays of her friends and colleagues. After the celebration, she had gone to her fellow doctor's room for some work, where that doctor forcibly raped her and carried out the incident of unnatural sexual abuse.

According to the police, the woman's complaint has been registered and her medico-legal test (MLC) has also been done. The accused have been booked under sections 376 (punishment for rape) and 377 (unnatural offences) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Benita Mary Jaiker said.

An official statement said, "On this information, the police reached the hospital and gathered the MLC and met the victim, who is also a doctor at AIIMS Hospital, who told that on 26.09.2021 she was forcibly raped by one of their senior doctors. She had gone to his room to celebrate the birthday of a colleague."

"During the investigation, the statement of the victim was recorded before a magistrate under section 164 of CrPC, and raids are being conducted at some places of the accused," Jaiker said. He said technical surveillance is being used to trace and arrest the accused. as soon as possible.
