An agreement has been reached between the government and the farmers on the ordinance brought about burning stubble, but it seems that the Center will not take further action on this till other issues of the farmers' organizations are resolved.

In view of the air pollution of Delhi-NCR, an ordinance was introduced which provides for punishment for burning stubble. There is also a demand of farmers that they be kept out of the provision of punishment.

He said, "Negotiations are going on now." Once you reach the final decision, then the timeline will be discussed. Theoretically, it has been decided that the government's two demands of farmers are acceptable.

Farmer leaders say that agreement on these demands with the government will increase confidence for further negotiations. However, he also emphasizes that these issues were much smaller than the demand for the removal of the disputed agricultural laws.

Yudhveer Singh, general secretary of the Bharatiya Kisan Union-Tikait, said, "There is still verbal consent from the government. There is no written agreement. But they can easily take action on the stubble issue and ask the Pollution Board to make changes. Let them do it first."

General Secretary of All India Kisan Sabha Hanan Mulla said, “Let them do what they have agreed to. But this is a small issue. Our big demand is to withdraw those three laws. In fact, after Wednesday's talks, one percent of the matter has moved forward and the 99 percent deadlock is still there. This is not 50 percent progress as is being claimed.
