Ground Report | New Delhi: Aamir Khan's anti-Hindu advertisement; Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Karnataka Anantkumar Hegde is left with a red face over the issue of not bursting crackers during Diwali in Aamir Khan's CEAT Tyre Diwali advertisement.

The controversy resurfaced after back-to-back controversial advertisements of Fabindia and Taj Mahal tea using Urdu captions for Hindu festivals.

Aamir Khan's anti-Hindu advertisement

In a letter to the company's MD and CEO Anant Vardhan Goenka, Hegde has requested to take strict action and look into the matter, apparently, the advertisement is causing "unrest among Hindus". He has also expressed that he hopes the organization will respect "Hindu culture and sentiments" in the future.

“The recent advertisement of your company in which Aamir Khan is advising people not to use firecrackers on the streets is sending a very good message. Your concern for public issues needs applause. In this regard, I request you to address one more problem faced by people on the roads, i.e. blocking of roads in the name of Namaz by Muslims on Fridays and other important festival days,” Hegde said.

In the letter, Hegde said Goenka's "concern of public issues requires applause". However, the BJP MP then pointed out that "vehicles like ambulances and fire engines" get stuck in traffic and cause "serious damage" due to religious events by a community. On noise pollution, he said it is "beyond the permissible limit".

Anti-Hindu actors hurts sentiments:MP

"Since you are very keen and sensitive towards the problems faced by the general public and you also belong to the Hindu community, I am sure you can feel the discrimination that Hindus have been subjected to for centuries," he added, nowadays, an "anti-Hindu actors" group always hurts Hindu sentiments while they never try to expose the "wrong deeds" of their community.

"Therefore, I request you to take cognizance of this particular incident where your company's advertisement has created unrest among Hindus," Hegde said, hoping that the organization would not further hurt Hindu sentiments.

The MP highlighted the 'delusion' of Hindu religious festivals on Twitter. He also said that such companies should face an economic crisis indicating a boycott of Fabindia products. Soon Boycott Fabindia started trending. Fearing backlash, the brand removed the controversial ad.
