80 people killed in various militant-related incidents this year in Kashmir

Two councilors Riyaz Peer and Shamsuddin were killed in the Sopore attack. While in Tral, militants shot and killed BJP leader Rakesh Pandit. Most of the firing took place in Shopian villages

Most of the firing this year took place in South Kashmir's Shopian villages. Including Rawalpora, Manihal, Budigam, Wangam, Chitragam, Zipora, Kanigam, and Ganavpora. This year militants carried out two hit-and-run attacks in Srinagar, the capital of Kashmir. Three jawans, including a CRPF officer, were killed in a hit-and-run attack in Srinagar's Lavaypora. Large number of foreign militants present in Kashmir

Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh said a large number of foreign terrorists are present in the Valley, but they are "less" and "distance-keeping".
