5-6 men gang-rape 23-yr-old woman in Rohtak, Haryana

Around five or six men allegedly gang-raped a 23-year-old woman in Haryana's Rohtak. According to the police, one of the men took the woman to her office under the pretext of giving her a job and raped her along with her accomplices.

According to police records, the 23-year-old said in the complaint that she comes from Rajasthan and has been living in a rented Rohtak for several months. On Thursday night, a young man named Monu came and told him that he had a real estate agent's office on Sonepat Road.

The incident took place on Thursday night when a man, identified as Monu from Bohar village in Rohtak, took the woman, who is from Sikar in Rajasthan and works as a domestic worker in Rohtak, to his office in the village, which is only 3 km from the city.

She got into Monu's talk and went to the office with him. Three of Monu's companions were already present there. The accused first gang-raped her by intimidating her. After this, when he resisted, he shot her in the knee of her right leg. She left the office bloodied. She reported the matter to the woman, with whom she rents.

Inspector Suresh Kumar, SHO of the Urban State Police Station, said the accused man brought the woman to her office under the pretence of giving her a job in her office.

“Four or five men were already drinking liquor there when the man brought the woman into his office. The defendant and his accomplices raped the woman. When she resisted, she was shot in the leg. The woman was rushed to the Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) where her condition is said to be critical,” Kumar said.
