Water supply in Delhi to be affected; check full list of areas here

Various parts of the national capital will witness water shortage as the Delhi Jal Board will carry out the annual reservoir cleaning and booster pump exercise.

There will be no water supply in some areas of Delhi for 12 hours from 10 am to 10 pm Monday due to repair work being carried out to fix the flow meters.

Certain areas will experience low water pressure. Rohini Sector 7, 8, 9, 11, 13, 22, 23 and 25, Madhuban Chowk are some of the areas that will be affected.

Delhi Jal Board to prepare ‘Water Data Bank'

Delhi Jal Board Vice Chairman Saurabh Bhardwaj held an important meeting with MLAs from various constituencies at the DJB headquarters to discuss the Summer Action Plan to ensure adequate water supply across the city.

Burari MLA Sanjeev Jha, Timarpur MLA Dilip Pandey, Adarsh Nagar MLA Pawan Sharma, Chhatarpur MLA Kartar Singh, Ambedkar Nagar MLA Ajay Dutt, Sangam Vihar MLA Dinesh Mohaniya, Tughlakabad MLA Sahi Ram, Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan, Mehrauli MLA Naresh Yadav and Deoli MLA Prakash Jarwal was present at the meeting. All the senior officials of the Delhi Jal Board were also present at the meeting.

Bhardwaj ordered the officials to complete all the works related to the Summer Action Plan within the stipulated time to ensure better water supply to the residents of Delhi during the summer season.

The Delhi Jal Board has prepared a data bank related to district-level water supply and demand in each assembly constituency. This will help in the formulation of the Summer Action Plan for the summer season. Information on the demand and supply of water from different neighbourhoods has been collected in the water data bank. The water data has identified areas in each assembly that require water supply improvements during the summers.
